Edna Owens Bride of Fred R. Kimsey
Marriage of Fred Kimsey & Edna Owens
Dallas Morning News
September 10, 1939

Miss Edna Owens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Owens of Forney, and Fred R. Kimsey of Gladewater, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Kimsey of Handley, were united in marriage Saturday at 8 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Forney, with the Rev. L.B. Jenkins of Midlothian performing the ceremony. Carl Wiesemann of Dallas played the wedding music. The church was decorated with woodwardia ferns.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, J.C. Owens. She wore a gown of white mousseline with full ruffled skirt, extending into a long train. She wore mittens to match her gown, and her illusion veil of fingertip length was caught to a Juliet cap of tulle. Her corsage was gardenias. Her only attendant was Miss Adelaide Criswell of Forney, a cousin. Her gown was of pink net designed with full skirt. She carried a colonial bouquet of two-tone asters.

James Henry Kimsey attended his brother as best man. Cleve Owens of Forney and Mabry L. Kimsey of Crandall were ushers.

A reception for the families and close friends was held after the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents. After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Kimsey will be at home in Gladewater.
