Marriage of Edwin Armstrong & Carolyn Senter
Dallas Morning News
August 2, 1945

Vows were exchanged Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. by Miss Carlyn Elizabeth Senter and Lt. Edwin Taylor Armstrong, USNR, at the First Christian Church in Forney.

The bride is the daughter of Carl C. Senter of Forney and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Will Armstrong, Plano.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white satin gown designed with a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves pointed at the wrists and a full gathered skirt extending into a train. Her full-length veil was three-tiered and was accented with heirloom rose-point lace. Her flowers were white orchids, carnations and stephanotis.

Mis Ann Ella Douglas, Dallas, was maid of honor; matron of honor was Mrs. Carl McWherter Jr. of Paris. Other bridal attendants were Miss Emily McKellar and Mrs. Charles B. Campbell, bridesmaids; Becky Armstrong and Betsy Armstrong, Plano, nieces of the bridegroom, flower girls.

Attending Lieutenant Armstrong as best man was his brother, Frank Armstrong, Plano. Ushers were Carl H. Hunt, Dallas; Hugh Sticksel, Amarillo, and F.L. Berstrand, Dallas.

The Rev. Patrick Henry, Fort Worth, read the ceremony, and wedding music was presented by Mrs. K.E. Yates, Dallas, soloist, and Mrs. R.B. Hulsey, organist.

After the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guyton McKellar. Mrs. Carl H. Hunt presided at the cake and Mrs. Leonard Reagin was in charge of the bride's book.

The couple will be at home in Bethlehem, Pa. For traveling, the bride wore a navy-blue and white checked suit with a white blouse. Her other accessories were navy and she wore a white orchid corsage.

Mrs. Armstrong received her degree from TSCW. She did graduate work at SMU and is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Lieutenant Armstrong, formerly of Dallas, attended the SMU school of law. He is a Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
