James F. Brennan

James F. Brennan, former Talty resident, died in Kilgore, Texas early Friday morning. Rosary was recited at the Anderson-Clayton Chapel in Terrell at 7 p.m. Saturday. Funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Martin's Catholic Church at Talty with Father Casmir Glogowski as celebrant. Interment will be in Oakland Memorial Park.

James Francis Brennan, a son of the late Mike Brennan and Elizabeth Ann Corbitt Brennan, was born in Kaufman County, Texas on Oct. 29, 1889. He lived his entire life in the Talty community until six years ago when he moved to Kilgore to make his home. He was engaged in farming until his retirement.

He was a member of the Catholic church.

He was married to Mary Kathleen Talty on Jan. 12, 1916 and to this union three children were born. His wife preceded him in death and he is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Fred Cook of Richardson, Mrs. Dewey Mosley of Terrell, and Mrs. William Ott of Kilgore; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Brennan of Dallas and Bernard Brennan of Fort Worth; four sisters, Mrs. R.E. Kelly of Houston, Mrs. George Davis of Glendale, California, Mrs. Gray Peak of Winslow, Arkansas and Sister Regis Brennan of Indiana; a number of nieces and nephews; and other relatives.

Note: According to the Texas Death Index, James Brennan died on July 20, 1979 in Gregg County.
